‘It is a real honour to receive such recognition from fellow professionals working in this challenging, but hugely rewarding field’, said a surprised, but delighted Vicky, who was in London to receive her award from the Chair of UKABIF, Professor Mike Barnes.
Here is what nominator, Bethan Drinkall of Equinox Physiotherapy (@RehabWales) had to say about her:
‘Vicky has a real empathy for her clients and her relaxed and confident demeanour enables her to gain their trust. Vicky makes her co -workers feel valued and quietly gets on with her tasks with the client’s best interest always at the heart of her goals. She listens to everyone and takes on board the opinions of carers to consultants, but with the client’s wishes always first and foremost. She is a dedicated member of Headway Cardiff and gives up her spare time freely to actively support her local members. Vicky brings calm where there is chaos and within the world of Brain Injury Rehabilitation this is a priceless gift.’
A well-deserved accolade for the many years of dedication to improving the lives of people affected by acquired brain injury in South Wales.
