We are looking for a warm, patient and reliable Child Therapy Assistant to support a 9-year boy who sustained an injury as a baby. As a result of his injuries he has complex needs, including behavioural, cognitive and physical.

Ability to drive with use of a car is essential

We are looking for a warm, patient and reliable Child Therapy Assistant to support an 9-year boy who sustained an injury as a baby. As a result of his injuries he has complex needs, including behavioural, cognitive and physical.

Our client attends school (with support) and is a sociable, friendly young man with a great sense of humour.  He requires some assistance with personal care but in the main he requires additional support out of school so that he can enjoy social and leisure activities, engage in therapy and further develop his life skills. He loves to be active and busy, enjoying cycling, swimming and skiing as well as craft activities and computer games.

Our client’s new Child Therapy Assistant is enthusiastic, fun, reliable and flexible, calm and patient under pressure and able to apply a consistent approach.

You will have experience of working with children. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a therapy student or psychology graduate who will enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting with the client’s therapy programme and assisting with his behaviour & care management plans.

During school holidays the hours are likely to be increased to 35 hours per week to provide extra support and to accompany him on day trips further afield.

A full induction and training will be provided.   This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check.
